The week before the exam

Fewer new plans; more mocks and weak-item drills. Exam prep plans have no speaking steps—use speaking tasks to speak.

When the exam is under two weeks away, making an Exam prep plan may show a sprint tip. Close to the date, pressure and gap-filling beat stacking a brand-new long plan.

Suggested approach

  1. Few new plans: keep the Active Exam prep / Single skills plan you have; Active plans have a count limit.
  2. Keep doing Today: finish planned vocabulary / listening / speaking items.
  3. Add exam-like work: run a Mock exam; for Eiken and similar, add a Mock interview task.
  4. Drill weaknesses: find low-scoring types in Practice records, favorite them and drill in a row, or assign Exam practice for that type only.
  5. Fill speaking gaps: Exam prep plans have no speaking steps—use speaking tasks or Practice when you need to speak; do not wait for a plan step that will never appear.

Not recommended

  • Switching exam or level near the date and making a whole new long plan (unless you truly changed levels).
  • Expecting “adjust remaining steps by weakness” on an Exam prep plan—that mainly applies to plans with speaking steps.
  • Treating App practice scores as an official pass/fail prediction.
