Goal of your first practice: finish one real session and know where to review it afterwards.
Steps
- Open the bottom tab Practice, or start from Today’s step on Home. Choose Self practice at the top. Practice on Learn opens the matching area directly.
- In Self practice, choose a mode (Hold to speak / Free talk / Scenario, depending on your role and space). Tasks and Pair practice are on the same top row.
- When the browser or system asks for microphone access, choose Allow.
- Speak as the screen guides you.
- When done, open Space → Progress for the summary. If you came from Learn, you return to that Learn tab. See Where Practice goes and where you come back.
Check your minutes before you speak
In Self practice, the top of the Practice page shows Points: X min and Benefits: Y min (if any). Practice left is the total. Order of use: Points and benefits.
Which of the three to choose
| Way | Good for | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Self practice | Practising pronunciation, conversation, or scenarios on your own | Self practice |
| Speaking task | Children or learners doing assigned work | Speaking tasks |
| Live pair practice | Parent–child or peer conversation with AI listening | Live pair practice |
By role
- Personal / parent / teacher: you can usually go straight to Self practice.
- Child / learner: you mostly see tasks; plans are made and started (Start) by a parent or teacher.
After practice you will see
- The session in the Progress timeline.
- If a plan is active, Today’s step on Home may move to the next step.
- Practice minutes used (points and benefits: Points and benefits; family pool allocation: Minutes pool and top-ups).
If…
- No microphone permission: see Microphone troubleshooting.
- No task to do: children and learners ask a parent or teacher to assign one; personal users can use Self practice.
- Practice left is 0: buy a point pack, wait for benefits, or ask a parent or teacher to allocate minutes. See Points and benefits.
- You want to start with a plan: see the main path.
