Coming from the website? Website live pair is the same capability as in the App: people talk, AI listens—not 1:1 human tutoring. Inviting friends may grant benefits (amounts follow the App). See Website entries and How to get practice minutes.
Live pair fits parent–child or peer practice: you converse, AI listens, and gives fluency / pronunciation / expression feedback at useful moments.
Before you start
- Get consent from both sides before recording and AI listening.
- Prefer a quiet place to reduce crosstalk.
- Allow microphone permission on both devices.
Good fit / poor fit
| Good fit | Poor fit |
|---|---|
| Everyday parent–child talk | Solo pronunciation drills (use hold-to-speak) |
| Peer reaction practice | No second person present |
Steps (summary)
- Speaking → Live pair (labels follow the UI).
- Confirm both sides consent to listening.
- Talk; review the feedback summary when finished.
- Optionally review in Progress.
After practice
Feedback and summaries appear in Progress. Privacy rules follow in-App notices.
If…
- One side refuses listening: do not force it; use Self practice or Speaking tasks.
- Only one side has audio: check the other device’s mic and network. See Microphone troubleshooting.
- You want to save minutes: check usage in Minutes pool and top-ups and How to get practice minutes.
- You want pair in a habit loop: see From tryout to habit.
